Tanea Sims: My major is biology. What interests me is I want to go into the health care field. I want to go to PA school, be a physician assistant. The reason I came to Saint Mary is the, we have the Human Anatomy Lab. And I really wanted to get more information about human anatomy. So some of the doctors that work down there when I came, they were super welcoming. And they helped me out a lot with learning the campus and just learning the professors and helping me study if I needed to. Given me that extra time to be able to study with me.
Being a first generation student means a lot to me. It probably means the most to me because I get to give my younger siblings and family members something to look up to. I like to be able to say I'm making people proud. Even like the people that help me, like the staff that helped me, the faculty that helped me around here. Like, I'm happy to be able to say that. Like, they can be like, "Oh, I helped her get to where she's at" Yeah. I made you proud to. Yeah. My name is Tanea Sims, but everybody knows me as "T", and I major in biology.
