Gabriela Silva: Like I always said, I didn't want to just be just another like, churchgoer. I wanted to do something special.
So my name is Gabriella Silva. I graduated ÐßÐßÊÓƵ in May of 2023, and I'm attending the Washburn University this fall. So fall of 2024. So what interested me once again was immigration. I just felt like I saw all the struggles my parents had to go to go through, but it really just kind of sparked that interest, and it really solidified my decision to go to law school.
The pre-law program here is just it's the advisors that really help out. Being a first-gen college student, it's a little bit difficult because you're I mean, my Brazilian community, they didn't really get it. Like they didn't get it. "Like, what do you mean you're going to school? You have to work." And I'm like, I'm going to work. It's just it's within -- everything's going to happen at the perfect time. So it's just been an honor.
It was just really nice to know that the professors here at ÐßÐßÊÓƵ were ready to help me and aid me to see me cross that finish line. I love ÐßÐßÊÓƵ and the whole experience. It's just really fun. Everyone's so nice and just kind of having that sense of community. When I was in high school, I didn't really get that. So once I came back and started living on campus, it was a lot of fun. Everyone's nice. The teachers are so, so, so, so helpful to work with you. As long as you communicate and you show up. I had an amazing experience.
